For the first few days after he was born, our son slept in what I call the “womb position”: with his arms bent, hands up by his face, and his legs crossed. I told my husband that he wasn’t used to all this space outside the womb yet! My husband took a few pictures of our son with his hands by his face, but we never got a photo with his legs (we were too shell-shocked) and then he realized this was a great big world and started sleeping with his limbs stretched out! I really think this womb sleeping position is so representative of the fourth trimester.
